775 New Saplings Planted

Press release

The association Wald & Klima Ursern looks back on another successful 2025 season. With the combined efforts of more than 150 dedicated volunteers, 775 new trees were planted in the Ursern Valley. Since 2022, the total number of saplings planted has reached an impressive 5 280.

Healthy Growth and Encouraging Development

The trees planted in previous years are thriving and showing steady, healthy growth — thanks in large part to the many volunteers. Through regular maintenance days, they play a crucial role in ensuring that the young trees can hold their ground against competing vegetation and develop optimally.
“It’s wonderful to see how the planting areas change from year to year, and how visibly stronger the trees become,” says Pascal Heiniger, member of the association’s office team and forest warden.

Offsetting CO₂ – Local, Voluntary, and Effective

The reforestation project in the Ursern Valley offers companies a unique opportunity to make a voluntary local CO₂ offset. Businesses can compensate for their carbon emissions while making a visible commitment to regional climate protection.
Their contributions support planting and maintenance work that binds CO₂ over the long term and strengthens biodiversity in the valley. The result is a credible and verifiable offset with a direct local impact.

Christmas Gift Idea: Give the Gift of a Forest Sponsorship

This year again, Wald & Klima Ursern offers a meaningful way to give: with a forest sponsorship, you can symbolically give a piece of mountain forest in the Ursern Valley — a gift that contributes to the future of our forests.
